Biography

Steve Zocchi

Steve Zocchi is a pianist, composer and music teacher who has taught piano and guitar in the Lowell area for over twenty years. He owns The Music Studio in Tewksbury MA where he teaches over 50 students per week. www.themusicstudiointewksbury.com A local performer, he has played many eclectic piano recitals throughout Massachusetts juxtaposing classical music, original compositions and jazz improvisation. He received a BA in piano performance from UMass where he studied piano with Juanita Tsu and composition with Paul Gay. He has continued his education studying piano with Steve Hunt and Constantine Finehouse. He was president of Greater Lowell Music Teachers Association from 2005 to 2012 and was awarded 'Music Teacher of the Year 2010' by Massachusetts Music Teachers Association. He volunteers for the Piano Heritage Series at the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford helping to organize several piano recitals each year since 2006. He is Music Minister at St. John's Episcopal Church in Lowell MA where he has served since 2000. In early 2012 he finished a recording project called "Steve Zocchi, Original Compositions and Improvisation" which is available on iTunes and Amazon. His newest project "piano works and play" is also available on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby. He lives in the Boston area with his wife Meghan, who is also a pianist and teacher.
